The Jewish Passover Celebration

JEWISH PASSOVER FESTIVAL

DISPOSITION:

The feeling of this event is happy as it is a celebration of freedom.

AS WELL AS DURATION:

Passover begins around the 14th or 15th day (depending upon where you are from) of the month of Nisan and ends on the twenty second day of the month of Nisan. It can be celebrated to get seven days in Israel and eight days outside of Israel. The reason for the has to do with the fact that ancient calendar worked.

HOW DOES THE RITUAL REVEAL THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN JEWISH PEOPLE AND GOD? The habit reflects the relationship between Judaism people and God throughout the purpose of the festival. The aim of Passover intended for Jews is to create a connection between one's self and God simply by fulfilling the biblical commandment from Goodness to the Hebrews of commemorating and celebrating ‘Chag Ha-Matzot' (the festivity of Unleavened Bread).

WHAT PRACTICAL/ETHICAL ACTION COULD EMERGE FROM CELEBRATING THIS KIND OF FESTIVAL? By recounting the events of the initially Passover during Seder prior to dinner, Judaism people feel like they had recently been personally associated with those incidents, therefore thus, making them feel even more aware of the actions of the doj and they gain more sympathy toward all those still living under oppression and consequently work towards gaining their very own political and physical freedom as well. And this, another ethical action that comes out of the special event is that many Jewish people invite all their friends and family about for Seder and in particular the dinner.

EXTRA INFORMATION:

*The Passover festival is definitely the oldest festival/holiday in Judaism *Passover's brand comes from the final of the Five Plagues frequented on the Egyptians by Yahweh before the Exodus *This event has had a great influence on some other beliefs, for example Christianity. The Christian feast of Maundy Thurs night finds their roots inside the Jewish party of Passover, the night on what the Last Supper is generally thought to have occurred *This year Passover begins on March 25th and ends on Apr 1st
